Defense for Children – ECPAT manages the reporting website www.dontlookaway.nl and receives reports submitted to it. All reports of child sexual exploitation are forwarded (whether or not anonymized) to the police. These reports are then forwarded to the Child Pornography & Child Sex Tourism Team.
Defense for Children is an independent foundation that advocates for children’s rights. ECPAT focuses specifically on preventing and combating child sexual exploitation. In the Netherlands, Defense for Children and ECPAT are a single organization. Defense for Children is part of an international network of approximately 45 affiliated organizations. ECPAT International is a network of organizations in over 100 countries that campaigns worldwide against the sexual exploitation of children.
The reporting website is being promoted as part of the Don’t Look Away campaign. This is a collaboration between the Ministry of Justice and Security, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, the National Police, the National Rapporteur on Human Trafficking and Sexual Violence against Children, Offlimits, the ANVR (branch organization), TUI Benelux, Corendon, Fox Reizen, Defence for Children-ECPAT, Terre des Hommes, Plan International Netherlands, Free a Girl, and International Justice Mission.
